What the company approved becomes the answer the team gets.

In Skyller, a document has a type, a code, a version, and a status. It goes through the review the company defines, and only after it is published does it enter the answers — with the source beside it, so anyone can check.

Where this helps in your work

Three questions that today become an email, a ticket, or a guess.

The information exists. The problem is where it is, whether it still applies, and who confirms it. Documents solve all three.

Someone who just joined

“How does working from home work here?”

The new hire asks in chat and gets the rule from the policy in force, with the passage cited — without stopping a teammate to explain it all again.

Official answer, source open beside it

Someone who owns the procedure

“Which version of the SOP is in force?”

Quality updates the procedure in the editor. The previous version is kept, the new one goes through the configured review, and only the published one answers.

One version in force, history intact

Someone accountable for the area

“This cannot become an answer before I approve it.”

The manager sets that Policy requires review and approval by different people. Until the document is published, Skyller does not use it.

How it works

From file to answer, in five steps with rules.

The cycle is the same for an HR policy, an operating procedure, or a manual. What changes is how much review the company wants for each document type.

  1. 01

    Create or import

Upload the file the company already has or write in the editor. Ready-made templates for policies, processes, and manuals give you a starting point.

  2. 02

    Identify

Type, sequential code, version, classification, and validity. The controlled header is filled in by the platform and printed on the document.

  3. 03

    Review

For the types the company marked as governed, the author submits for review. The reviewer is never the author.

  4. 04

    Approve and publish

Another person approves. Being an administrator does not grant that power: authority comes from the approver role, and the decision goes on the trail.

  5. 05

    Consult

Once published, the document enters the knowledge of the space it lives in. The team asks in chat and the answer points to the source.

The live proof

The same question, before and after publishing.

This is the moment that convinces any team: while the document is a draft, the answer does not use it. The instant it is published, the same question starts answering with the source.

  1. Input

A team member asks in the People Hub chat: “how many work-from-home days do I get per week?”. The policy that answers is still a draft.

  2. What Skyller does

    1. 01Searches only published documents within their validity, in the scope the person can see. The draft stays out.
    2. 02After the policy is approved and published, the same question finds the right passage.
    3. 03Writes the answer with the document name as a link — one click opens the source beside it, with code and version.
  3. Result

“Up to two days a week, agreed with your manager by the previous Wednesday.” Source: Remote Work Policy · POL-014 v3.

What this scene does not promise

  • The citation appears when the answer comes from a document; a general question has no documentary source.
  • Draft, in-review, rejected, or expired documents do not enter the answer. The exact wording of an answer without a source depends on the configured agent.
  • The person only receives what their scope allows them to see: personal, workspace, hub, or company.

Relevant capabilities

What you find when you open Documents.

Select a topic to see its capabilities, conditions, and limits.

Formats and reading
PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, CSV, text, HTML, Markdown, and images. Scanned PDFs and images go through optical reading. Documents up to 50 MB by default; images have their own limit.
Library with search and filters
Search by text and filter by status, type, scope, format, and owner. Bulk actions to move and reprocess.
Download and export
Original, Markdown, or PDF with the controlled header. Material produced in chat can be saved to the library and go through the same cycle.

In practice

An HR policy, from draft to answer in chat.

A complete scenario with fictional data. Each step matches a real product action; what depends on configuration is marked.

  1. 01HR

Imports the remote work policy as Word into the People Hub. It is born as a draft because the company marked “Policy” as a governed type.

  2. 02Platform

Applies the controlled header: POL-014, version 3, internal classification, effective from publication.

  3. 03Quality

Receives the document in the review queue, comments on an adjustment, and approves the review.

  4. 04Board

Approves and publishes. The decision, the comment, and the time go on the document's trail.

  5. 05Team

Asks in chat and gets the rule with the source. Version 2, now replaced, no longer answers.

Comes ready

  • Import, editor, types, code, version, scopes, search, and filters
  • Review queue, decision trail, and version history
  • Answer with source citation when it comes from a document

The company decides

  • Governance mode and which types require approval
  • Code pattern and controlled header fields
  • Who holds the reviewer and approver roles
  • Mandatory re-approval when editing a published document

Straight questions

What teams ask before getting started.

Next step

Start with the document that raises the most questions on your team.

Import a real policy or procedure, define who reviews and who approves, and ask the question that today becomes an email. Or book a demo: the team sets up the scene with fictional data.
